The Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Police (DB) has arrested a model named Faria Mahabub Piasa from Baridhara area of the capital and a model named Maryam Akter Mau from Mohammadpur. They were detained in separate raids after 10 pm on Sunday. Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Police (DMP) Joint Commissioner Mohammad Harun Aur Rashid confirmed the arrest of the two women. The two women were arrested with various drugs including yaba and alcohol.
Police officer Mohammad Harun Aur Rashid told reporters at night that there were various allegations against Piasa and Maui. Piyasa lives in a flat in Baridhara. And Mau lives in Mohammadpur. They are both members of the same cycle. He used to bring offensive boys against them and take offensive pictures by using drugs. After that, these two women used to collect money from the victims through blackmail. A case will be filed against them at Gulshan and Mohammadpur police stations.
Model Piyasa name came up in 2016 when two university students were raped at the Raintree Hotel in Banani. Model Piasa claimed to be the wife of Shafat Ahmed, the accused in the case.
Piyasa's name is on the list of witnesses in the case. He did not go to testify in court even after the court summons was issued.
